Step 2 of 6 ยท Your company setup guide

Ready to register? Here's what to prepare.

Get the people, address and company details ready before the Bizfile application starts.

Registration creates the company. It doesn't automatically settle your bank account, licences or permission to work in Singapore. Here's how to prepare.

1. Put your details in one place

Agree the proposed name, business activities, shareholders, share capital, directors, registered office, constitution and financial year end. Check ACRA's Bizfile registration guide before submitting.

Your company needs at least one director meeting Singapore's local residency requirements. It must appoint a company secretary within six months of registration. A sole director cannot also be its secretary. ACRA: company officers.

2. Know who is doing what

If you engage a provider, confirm its ACRA CSP registration and the scope of work. JM Atelier helps organise the admin and liaises with partners; we are not the CSP performing regulated incorporation services.

Review the information yourself. Make sure ownership and responsibilities reflect what you've actually agreed.

3. Keep your registration records

Save your Business Profile and incorporation documents. Check any licences needed before you begin operating. Appoint an auditor within three months unless an audit exemption applies. ACRA: after registration.

Your next move: organise access to government services. And start keeping business records from your first transaction, not your first tax deadline.
